Happy (belated) Thanksgiving!

Kona had a big Turkey Day, which included meeting three new people and scaring a few familiar cats in Omaha. The human meet and greet went pretty well, as Alex’s aunt, uncle and cousin visiting from Iowa did a good job of ignoring Kona for the first 10 minutes after they arrived. The feline introductions were less cordial, as in nonexistent, which – I think – is an improvement from our last visit. In fact, we haven’t seen the cats for more than a few minutes since we arrived 36 hours ago. Oops.

Following our afternoon Thanksgiving dinner, some of us took an annual walk around the neighborhood. Kona came along and led the way. Apparently, we weren’t walking fast enough in our post-turkey stupor. She was still wound up when we got home, so Alex’s brother, Spenser, tried to wear her out on the treadmill. Kona was not a fan. (post continues below)

But she was awfully interested in the (University of Missouri) tiger slippers Alex’s mom wore after dinner. (post continues below)

And, eventually, we she did wear out. (post continues below)

She even posed, kind of, for a family picture. (Don’t mind the girl with the goofy grin in the middle.) Happy (belated) Thanksgiving!
